ABOUT ASSAM UNIVERSITY
Assam University, Silchar is a Central University established by an Act of the Indian Parliament (Act XXIII of 1989), and came into existence in 1994. Situated in the Barak Valley of southern Assam, the University is nestled in a sprawling 600-acre campus at Dargakona, about 23 km from Silchar town. In 2007, Assam University opened a 90-acre satellite campus at Diphu in the Karbi Anglong Hills District of Assam, thereby making quality higher education accessible to a wider section of society. With students’ strength about 5000 in both the campuses, the University is a veritable melting pot of diverse communities, ideas and creativity. Apart from the two campuses of the University, there are 73 affiliated and permitted colleges in the five districts of south Assam, which together constitute the jurisdiction of Assam University and there are more than 37,000 students enrolled in the affiliated colleges.
Since 1994, Assam University has expanded both in size and reputation. Today, there are 43 postgraduate departments under 16 schools of studies in the Silchar campus and 10 departments in Diphu campus, offering a wide range of programmes geared towards equipping students and research scholars with knowledge, skills, experience and confidence, the benefits of which they can reap well into the future. Besides, there are several Centres of Study in the University dedicated to research of high quality. Recently, the University has developed a strategy for enhancing the range of pedagogic uses of technology. As part of this strategy, the University is in the process of gradually turning all its classrooms into state-of-the-art ones enabling teachers to teach using a wide variety of media. There’s no gainsaying that in the last twenty eight years of its relentless pursuit of academic excellence, Assam University has made giant strides in providing better academic atmosphere and improved infrastructural facilities.

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE
AMRIT-2024 is the second International Conference in the region of North Eastern States of India. The first AMRIT conference was held in 2023 in the Department of Computer Science, Assam University,
Silchar. The conference aims to gain significant interest among researchers, academicians, professionals, and students in the region, covering wide topics from the fields of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The AMRIT-2024 targets to offer a platform for research collaboration, networking, and presentation of recent research findings in the fields of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering.
AMRIT-2024 is expected to bring together researchers, educators, students, practitioners, technocrats, and policymakers from academia, government, industry, and nongovernmental organizations to discuss, share, and promote current research works and recent research accomplishments across all the thrust areas of Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. The second International Conference AMRIT-2024 will ignite the process of improvement in research and the journey to further heights to touch the global standards. A good number of keynote addresses by reputed academicians, high-quality invited talks, tutorials, technical sessions, poster presentations and industry exhibitions are planned for the proposed conference.
NOTICES
BACKGROUND
India is fifth and rapidly emerging economy in the global scenario depending on the expertise in Computer Science & Information Technology, all Engineering branches both in consultancy and R & D. The present global scenario is highly ambitious about the role of India and demanding for innovation, equity and development initiative in various growing and upcoming sectors. The Indian economy is tremendously successful during pandemic and post pandemic situations. All the developed nations and developing nations too are looking forward for India’s move in the next twenty-five years. The journey of success of India depends on the Government’s initiatives towards Science, Education, Health and Industrial sectors. New education policy 2020 is being implemented in Universities and Institutions, therefore at this juncture, it is a high time to organise such International Conferences to showcase our strength and start thinking in the new directions to lead our nation from the front. The global scientific community already witnessed the rise of Indian computer science research and growth of the Indian software industry. In the North East (NE) India there are a good number of academic institutions including one IIT, NITs, IIM and Central Universities offering Computer Science and Electrical Engineering as subjects of specialization at graduation, post-graduation and doctoral level of education. The second International Conference AMRIT-2024 aims at providing a common platform for academicians and research scholars to present state-of-the-art scientific results, encourage academic and industrial interaction, and promote collaborative research activities in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, involving scientists, engineers, professionals, researchers and students from all over the country.
MOTIVATION
The need of improvement in growth in the R&D sector of Computer Science has triggered the idea of a International Conference on the proposed theme. There is also an urgent need for training human resources, capacity building measures for Computer Science research and IT industry diversification and growth in the region that is constrained by the geographical isolation of the region, inadequacy and quality of infrastructure and the lack of well-developed IT markets.
A discussion with eminent experts in Computer Science from NE region and other part of the country has boosted the concept of holding this International Conference. Though geographically remote, the Department of Computer Science, Assam University Silchar is quite active in Computer Science research and has the potential of becoming a leading centre of research in near future particularly in the Southern part of the NE region. Thus, the department is ideally poised to hold this conference. The Conference, as proposed, is anticipated to provide a forum for fruitful discussions and active interactions amongst the resource persons and participants from various academic institutions, government organizations and industries in the NE India as well as with the peers in the rest of the country. The proposed event will help in bringing together participants from industry and academics to meet, discuss, exchange views and experiences on various issues related to R & D in Computer Science.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
